So here is what is in line for the next couple of weeks. To be honest, live shows are limited so far, lots of private stuff going on, but it's all good.

8th and 22nd March
No Black Tie!

AND dont forget to check out the No Black Tie tribute to Whitney Houston on the 9th and 10th of March featuring the amazing vocals of Rozz, Poova and Elvira Arul!

HOPEFULLY something big for me is about to happen. So fingers crossed till everything is confirmed. =)

Wish me luck, friends!

Insight

So, if you are a musician (especially a young one), then you would know the in's and out's of the problems a musician would encounter.

What we wish our only concern was
  1. Music
What we never thought would be something to think about, but is
  1. Band politics
  2. Discipline
  3. Client payments
  4. People thinking that we don't do any work. (!#@$@#$@#!!!!!)
  5. Event cancellation (What do I do now?!?!?!? )
  6. Double booking
  7. Song choice ("I will survive" at a wedding? I don't think so)
  8. Song arrangements
  9. Dress code (oops, too revealing for this wedding)
  10. Forgetting equipment (yup, I have even forgotten my microphone!)
  11. Sound check
  12. Critics (everyone is a critic did you not know?!)
  13. Visa application (you're a... what? Musician????)
  14. Practice schedules
  15. Having NO gigs
and the list goes on.

I can honestly say that a musicians life is not easy. Sure, we may be our own boss, wake up when our eyes open (on most days) and choose our own holidays. However, we also don't have the luxuries of security, stability and/or sanity!!!

This does not apply to all musicians. Some lucky bunch caught a big break and got it all sorted out. Companies were opened, stable cheques were given out and received, managers were hired, agents were appointed and MUSIC became their only concern once again.

Oh... that day will come.
